And just like that, it's over (for now)

The Senate voted 51-48 on whether to move forward on the Employee Free Choice Act.  As at least 60 votes were necessary to go forward, the Senate will now move on to other business and will likely not take up the matter again this year.  Over the next few days, EFCA Updates will post a more detailed report on the Senate's actions and discuss what to expect from labor in the wake of these events.
